HTC students earn Goldwater recognition
Ohio University student Ethan Cottrill has been named as the recipient of the Goldwater Scholarship, an award for sophomores and juniors interested in careers in science, math, and engineering. Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, research experience, and their career goals. Cottrill is a Cutler scholar and junior in Honors Tutorial College, majoring in Chemistry.
Konneker Medal Design Competition
Ohio University is seeking a design for the Konneker Medal for Commercialization and Entrepreneurship. This new award established by the Ohio University Foundation will recognize current and former faculty members or students who demonstrate excellence in innovation, invention, commercialization, and entreneurship. Students and alumni are encouraged to submit designs for the chance to receive $2,000 in prize money. Submissions are due by 5 p.m., Friday, June 1 to Andrea Gibson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Alumna has 28 years of continuous giving
Denice Korcal graduated from Ohio University in 1984 with the intent of donating to the University at least as much as she received in financial aid as a student. The HTC alumna says she would not have been able to pursue higher education without the assistance. She has been making gifts to the University since 1989.
Cooper announced All-American, MVP; OHIO hires coach
DJ Cooper has been named to the 2012 Lute Olson All-American team
and was also named Most Valuable Player of the Mid-American Conference
by CollegeInsider.com. The junior guard lead the Bobcats in scoring
and assists and finished 15th in the nation in steals per game. OHIO men's basketball also has a new head coach -- Jim Christian was recently hired.
"Posties" past and present, gathered in Athens April 13-14 for The Post 100th Anniversary. The weekend included a Welcome Reception at Red Brick Sports Club on Friday, Saturday afternoon panels and discussions, and a banquet dinner with the State of The Post address at the Dairy Barn. Cruise-In at the Convo
The annual Cruise-In at the Convo, hosted by the Ohio Alumni Varsity Band will take place May 19th from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Convocation Center at Ohio University. Bring your classic car, truck, or motorcycle for a day of cars, music, prizes, and fun!
The first 110 vehicles to register will receive dash plaques, free t-shirts, door prizes, and will be entered into a 50/50 raffle. Participants and their guest will also receive free tickets to the Ohio Bobcats baseball game vs. Miami Redhawks at Wren Stadium at 3 p.m. Cost is $8 for those who register online, and $10 on the day of the event. Admission is free for spectators. All proceeds benefit the Ohio University Marching 110 and Alumni Bands.

The class of 1962 is invited to commemorate their Golden Reunion! "PURR-ennial" Bobcats (graduates of 1961 and earlier) are also welcomed for the weekend’s events. Highlights of the weekend include class photos, socials and dinners, theater and film productions, "OH, I dO" vow renewal ceremony, campus tours, open houses and more! Additionally, participants of Alumni College will "graduate" from college in just three days after attending workshops presented by OHIO faculty and a multitude of topics.

Ohio University Homecoming 2012
2012 Homecoming Week will take place October 8-14! This year's Homecoming theme is "Better than the Best Ever" in honor of the late Ron Socciarelli, who conducted the Marching 110 for nearly 20 years. Plan to join fellow Bobcats in returning home for the whole week or just for the game against Akron on Saturday, Oct. 13.
