Greetings from Ohio University!
 The Ohio University class of 2010 is beginning careers in a challenging economy. For recent graduates and retirees alike, times of economic turbulence offer opportunity amid the uncertainty. An example of one such opportunity is the IRA, which offers flexibility through the IRA Rollover and IRA Conversion.
In this issue, you can read about Marlain Evans, who has recently given to a scholarship through an IRA Rollover. If you are interested in making an IRA Rollover this year, new legislation is pending that will allow for a 2010 IRA Rollover. You can keep an eye on our website for updates.  Aware of the rising costs of college, Marlain Evans wanted to make it easier for a talented young person to go to school. So she decided to fund a scholarship in the College of Education through an IRA Rollover. She hopes that the scholarship will give a student the opportunity to become an educator and impart the passion for education to the next generation. Read more

A Roth IRA offers advantages over a traditional IRA such as future tax-free withdrawals and no required minimum distribution. Recent legislation raised the limits on converting from a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA.
